I am not calling for defederation or anything like that, maybe a ban for the users who are treating this person badly on your instance.

Please read both linked posts before replying, see how the admins also use bad faith arguments and hyperbolic statements.

Will this be allowed here?

Thanks for your time. I look forward to join this instance if things go well with this post.

Yeah I entirely disagree with their stance about “echo chambers” and “dissenting opinions.” Queer rights are not a subject of debate ever. We are unfederated from sh.itjust.works because they allowed a The_Donald community on their instance and decided to have a debate about whether that was cool instead of, you know, just getting rid of it. Maybe one day we’ll reconsider that stance but it seems pretty reasonable to me for now.

I agree with you for defederating from that server of the donald community. Would you be willing (if you are able too) ban the abusive poster in post i linked from your instance?

Now that we know this about beehaw, i wonder what other abusive behavior they will tolerate/allow.

Which people are you referring to? I’m fine banning people but with federation it probably doesn’t quite work as you’d expect; they won’t be able to communicate on local communities, but it doesn’t change anything about federated communities. I think if you block someone you can’t see any content from them at all, however.

check out the sidebar on Beehaw’s instance.

they have been very transparent about their approach to rules, and their expectations for how discourse should be conducted.

it is permitted to have a different opinion, and expressing that opinion politely is tolerated. expressing hate speech (as interpeted by the admins) is not tolerated, but also expressing neutral opinions unkindly is not allowed.

their approach to moderating, as described in their sidebars and pinned messages, is that it is better to try polite discourse to encourage good behavior, before resorting to bans.

again, I won’t agree with all of the admins political views, but their commitment to transparency and allowing all discussions in kindness is a central pillar that most will agree is pretty important for fostering the kind of community Beehaw wants to foster.

This is condescending i have clearly read the rules, what i reported is against the rules and ideas for a safe space. What i reported is not following their ethos and is not open discussion as the instance admin for this instance said. I don’t appreciate this comment and ask you read the post i reported and delete/rethink what you said.
