And they tried to make the action “neutral” by banning any form of tape other than white or black. So, all those charity causes that the tape was used for in the past, all gone. No charity donations for you.

All because the NHL decided it didn’t want to allow players to voluntarily use rainbow tape, which was itself the NHL trying to cover the wagons because a small amount of players were getting public criticism for openly airing their homophobic views.

It’s only for players on ice. Players are free to do what they off the ice and the tape will still be for sale.

It’s a stupid decision, but it’s only on ice to remove that platform from the players. They are free to vent off ice, but now those nights are for those nights.

Meh…it goes with the no causes on ice policy. I shrug, I kind of like keep politics out of the game.

Can’t wait for the day that sexual orientation and gender identity are finally not considered “political”

Thank you. Besides the profit comment I made, I struggled to articulate what else bothered me about that comment. You put it into words.

There’s a difference between being gay and shouting I’m gay from the rooftops every single chance you get.

Who cares, I’m left handed I tell this to everyone I meet. I wear that shit like a badge. No one has once told me it’s controversial, yet if I was born 50 years ago I would have been beat as a child for being evil or some shit.

And it’s not 50 years ago now. Don’t make little things your whole personality it’s annoying. White people, black people, gay people, straight people, tall people, short people. Nobody cares about your immutable characteristics, unless it noticeably affects your day-to-day. Only height might do that on the extreme ends.
