i remember a docu-series called dirty money that tells just this.
There was also a series called “Bad Banks” from German Public Television which is fictional but the Bad Bank portrays Deutsche. It’s quite good for a German show and available on Netflix

swiss banks like to pull stuff like this too: when some wealthy passes away, with no heirs in the will. his money kinda go ‘poof’…disapperas out of thin air.
