Supply chains, worker wages and the price of energy has been blamed for the current bout of high inflation. But central bankers around the world are starting to clue in to something consumers have been aware of for a while — corporations just aren’t afraid to raise their prices anymore.

    It helps when we let them build virtual monopolies with almost no regulation.

    Pandemic scarcity showed companies that we don’t question legitimacy. They observed that once we got used to the higher price, we were helpless to fight back.

    Shrinkflation and price increase became the norm. Now it’s our reality.
