    I’m going to play the devil’s advocate here and point out that Green Card holders being chained to an employer is not Apple’s fault.

      That’s a good point, our stupid federal policies are incentivizing this behavior from Apple. But Apple is also the richest company in the world and they employ enough lawyers to know that they’re not supposed to do this kind of shit, so I don’t really have sympathy for them in this case.

    Every company discriminates. That’s what companies do. They only want the best and the brightest. Well, when the best and brightest only come from the most expensive schools and the most rich neighborhoods (meaning white men) how do you think that turns out? The problem is that we don’t lift up disadvantaged populations

            Yes, it’s illegal. And it should be stopped. But my larger point is that it won’t stop by just making it illegal. Companies will continue to do this while it is in their best interest to do so
