      Why? I don’t doubt that it’s deserved, but I’ve yet to encounter “why Winston Churchill sucks”. Please, enlighten me.

    I don’t think it would surprise anybody to hear that he “came from money”, but it’s a bit surprising to know just how much of an aristocrat he was.

    His mother was American, so not part of the British aristocracy, but his father’s line has Wikipedia entries for centuries.

    His dad was the leader of the Conservative party, leader of the House of Commons and Secretary of State for India.

    His granddad was the 7th Duke of Marlborough, and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (i.e. the Brit in charge of Ireland) and Lord President of the Council, the head of the Privy Council.

    What made Winston unique was that he was one of the first of his line to have to bother with things like “elections” to get power.
