I miss Hoi An. I miss the rest of Vietnam, too, but mostly Hoi An. If you ever plan to go to SEA, make sure you go there. And bring money for a made-to-measure suit
I have family in Hoi An. Very familiar with everything that it offers!
What does a nice made-to-measure suit run these days there?
I think when I was there five years ago you could pay between $100-150 although I only checked two places if I remember correctly. I was running low on cash back then, that’s why I had to pass on one, sadly
I spent a few weeks there about a decade ago, loved the architecture of the city and the landscape. Plus the Vietnamese people were warm and welcoming. Hoping to go back to that part of the world again someday.
Did you take this picture? I love it by the way, good colors and feels like a candid slice of life there, captures that moment well.
I thought it was still great in 2019. And felt the same warmth and welcoming vibes, with plenty of great food.
It was obviously experiencing a lot of growth with plenty of tourists then. Some complained it was getting a little too touristy/crowded, but seems like you can find someone saying that phrase about nearly anywhere you go. Especially enjoyable places, which of course, tend to be popular.
Vietnam is growing majorly in tourism, parts of me hopes it doesn’t grow to much. I’m Vietnamese living in the states go there once in a blue moon. I love that more people are loving Vietnam.
I’m referencing more in things you can do, especially golf. Over the next couple of years Vietnam is looking to open 50 to 100 golf courses. I just hope they don’t destroy too many forests for some stupid golf courses.
Yes, (OC) in the title means original content. I took the picture.
Manila palm (aka Christmas palm) for anyone who might one of those trees at home.
The composition here is awesome, and the little poses are too cute. Nice photo.
I always wonder how long a fresh coat of paint stays clean there. Every picture I’ve seen has moldy and flaking paint.
I’d estimate 5 - 7 years or so
Great photo
Ah, Hoi An. One of my favorite places in Vietnam. I will forever cherish the memories my wife and I made there. Made friends with the lady that ran the hostel we were at, she gave us the most precious gifts when we left. I look forward to visiting her again.

I expected animals, but human kids are cute too.
2 girls… thought it was another sub.
