Are you really asking why compressing and uncompressing art made by a human being is different from slop produced by the slop machine?
One exists to reconstruct an image as closely to the original as possible while saving space, the other is meant to insert arbitrary changes to the initial image and produce something else.
I’m a computer dumbass and I managed to install Mint by plugging in a USB and clicking “next” until I had a new OS installed. Maybe something else would be marginally more suited to me, but Mint does everything I want: games, internet, and office software are all I need.
That was my main issue with Windows. I’m not here to fight with my computer, especially not with a corporation controlling MY computer.

If anyone who feels very ACAB doubts the recommendation of a cop show from the early to mid 00s: understandable. But consider:
The first episode opens with the main character cops murdering a fellow cop and framing it on a suspect they also murdered.
The show doesn’t explicitly say ACAB, but is very much about how the system let these cops exist and how they use it to evade justice. If you’re old enough to remember the advertising campaign FX did for it at the time, they made it sound like a typical cop show and it’s really not.
Kaiba. It’s anime, but if you like conceptual sci-fi fantasy about the nature of the self and memory then this would probably be up your alley.
It takes place in a world where it’s possible to transfer your mind to a new body and sell memories, and it explores the obvious implications of that under capitalism. It’s a mix of dark (but not grimdark) and hopeful; it doesn’t spoon-feed you and is comfortable leaving you with existential questions. I’ve watched it twice and got something new out of it the second time around, and honestly I’d watch it a third time.
Dead before its time, and if they revived it then it wouldn’t be the same. RIP Better Off Ted, I don’t think there’s a single episode of it that doesn’t make me crack up.
My husband and I did a watch through of Pluto recently, I went into it not knowing anything about Astroboy and it didn’t affect my enjoyment of it. We’re looking for something else to watch, so I think Monster will go on the list!
