Personally, I assume that there will be some flow, because you strictly need that for app development, but that they will try to make that as painful as possible for non-development use, because it helps to eliminate their competition.

Ultimately, this should even fall under anti-competition laws, but people have no trust in that actually being enforced, at the very least not in a timely manner before the competition is dead. The only instrument we have is shitstorms, so as long as there is any doubt, it is safer to keep the shitstorm brewing.

Jo, hat im Konkreten betrachtet natürlich Vor- und Nachteile. Die Linke+Grüne wäre evtl. verhältnismäßig mit mehr Sitzen vertreten und hätte trotz offizieller Leitung durch die CDU evtl. eine stärkere Verhandlungsposition.

Kann aber natürlich auch bedeuten, dass dann vielleicht die Grünen sich trotzdem zu einer schwarz-grünen Koalition hinreißen ließen, einfach weil Regierungsbeteiligung, und dann innerhalb der Koalition auch wieder Schwierigkeiten hat, weil die Linke ihre Kompromissvorschläge auch ablehnt.

Also ja, ist kein Allheilmittel, das strategisches Wählen komplett abschafft, aber die Hoffnung ist eben trotzdem, dass es besser als die aktuelle Situation ist.

Die Annahme ist, dass einige Wähler jetzt für Grün gestimmt haben, obwohl sie die Linke bevorzugen, weil es nicht klar war, ob die Linke über die 5% Hürde kommt, wodurch sie jetzt erst recht nicht über die 5% Hürde kamen. Mit unserem aktuellen System verpufft die Wählerstimme nämlich einfach, wenn man sie einer Partei unter der 5% Hürde gegeben hat.

Bei Ranked Choice hätte man “1. Linke, 2. Grüne” wählen können und hätte in beiden Fällen dann der richtigen Partei die Stimme gegeben.

Teilweise kann man sowas noch in Bibliotheken oder dedizierten Spielzeuggeschäften ausleihen, aber mit so empfindlichen Spielzeugen wie diesen Baggern ist das mit dem Ausleihen auch so ein Ding. Und einen Sandkasten ausleihen wird auch schwierig…

Kann mir durchaus vorstellen, dass die Realo-Politik im Moment ankommt. CDU und FDP sind ja irgendwo nach rechts außen abgedriftet. Und keine Ahnung, ob die SPD noch existiert, von denen hört man fast nichts. Dadurch entsteht ein riesiges Vakuum in der Mitte.

Irgendwelche Angstmache von Springer und Co. zieht hier eben auch nicht, weil Kretschmann lange genug an der Macht war, ohne dass die Welt untergegangen ist.

I feel like people often misunderstand that writing isn’t just busywork, but rather instrumental for developing a deeper understanding. Formulating a sentence forces you to clear out uncertainties you might have. And writing it down serves as extended working memory.

I can imagine there being some middleground, like not bothering to learn where to place commas and having an LLM insert them for you, but from my biased position of already knowing how to write correctly, I do struggle to come up with scenarios where this actually makes a difference.
If you know how to read, you’ll have a sense where commas aid with that. Anything beyond that is just pedantic wankery anyways.

Well, AI was also quite instrumental in making web search useless. It made it trivial to create infinite spam pages, which search engines have to filter out. Naturally, too much will get filtered out as a result, meaning you can’t find a lot of useful results anymore either.

Yeah, this should be equivalent to interpolation search, which has an average performance of O(log(log(n))).

It helps that the months are separately indexed, so instead of a search on 365 input elements, you can do two searches with much lower input size, i.e. 12 and 31.

But yeah, you’re still in the larger O(log(log(n))) category with that.
