  • For modern pex plumbing, there are a few different techniques but the easiest for a home owner would be using metal crimp rings and a hand crimp tool which runs about $100. Thats probably the same or less than the hourly rate of a plumber. Plus with modern plumbing measuring doesn’t need to be as precise and you can literally just bend the pex to make awkward angles. Even easier than that are push fit fittings. No special tools required but each fitting is more expensive than traditional pex fittings. The biggest benfit of push fit fittings is they can join different types of pipe together, such as copper to pex.

The most important parts of the plumbing code are related to drains, this is to ensure proper drainage and to prevent backflows of sewage into the potable plumbing or accumulation of sewer gases inside the home.

Each industry will have its own jargon, and most industries can be well researched, but as you mentioned when it comes to legal stuff it can be region specific and may extensively rely on previous court rulings. Thats where a good lawyer really makes the difference.

A good plumber and a bad plumber can both replace your sink, the good plumber will likely be cleaner and neater, maybe make it easier to replace again, but both should get the job done. A good programmer could code something to be much more effecient than a bad programmer. A good lawyer versus a bad lawyer could have a much more significant difference in their outcomes.

  • Currency

    1 a : circulation as a medium of exchange

b : general use, acceptance, or prevalence a story gaining currency

c : the quality or state of being current : currentness needed to check the accuracy and currency of the information

2 a : something (such as coins, treasury notes, and banknotes) that is in circulation as a medium of exchange

b : paper money in circulation

c : a common article for bartering Furs were once used as currency.

d : a medium of verbal or intellectual expression … neither side possessed any currency but clichés … —Jan Struther

Not a single mention of stability or regulation. What is mentioned is medium of exchange which is exactly what is happening in both scenarios of the meme.

  • Home repairs like that are clear and researched enough that you could reasonably do them yourself with the right resources and effort. Average folks can look up and understand most building codes because the language is clear, concise and specific, whereas legal language is much more nuanced and broad. Previous court cases are often used to determine what the law should be interpreted as where as you don’t need to go measure your neighbors house to get the right stud spacing. The plumbing code is not as debatable as what constitutes as manslaughter.

  • They will provide you with a free lawyer if you are defending yourself from a crime you’ve been convicted of, otherwise you are on your own. For example I was sold a house that is on a septic tank and that was never disclosed to me upon purchasing. It is now on me to source and pay for a lawyer to sue the guy who sold me the house, especially since said septic system doesn’t work and is backing up. Part of the suit is to cover my legal fees, but i actually have to win to get that covered.

  • Well greenhouse gases are often described as a blanket and a blanket doesn’t immediately get warm, it take time. I doubt the trickling effect is much different in lag time than sudden pulses, its just gradually increasing the blanket rather than pulling it all on at once. Its still gonna take time for more solar energy to accumulate by bouncing off the trickling in CO2.

In the book plows, plagues, and petroleum, the author uses several factors of humans history to argue that man made climate change was slowly having an impact much before the industrial revolution, which is the common “starting point” for most people and scientists. Althought not as drastic as this sudden increase in fossil fuel burning, they argue that impacts such as deforestion and burning of cropland in early human settlements had a measureable impact on carbon sinks and carbon releases, still enough to start skewing the natural rate of climate change.

  • You can treat your crypto just like every other currency. When a country makes a trade for USD, they usually don’t immediately convert that USD into their native currency, instead they hold on to it and use it to buy something in exchange for their USD. The same can be done with crypto, get paid in BTC, pay the next country in BTC. On an individual scale it makes more sense to be converting currencies, like if i lived in the USA but was remote working in europe and paid in pounds, those pounds would be pretty much useless to me without exchanging, but as country, I could stash those pounds and continue using them for trade. This is probably what Iran is doing, they likely have several clients willing to trade in crypto.

In this sense its just like handing over raw cash. The bank doesn’t need to be involved for me to pay my neighbor to shovel my driveway if i give him cash, then he can pay another neighbor that same cash to mow his lawn in a few months. With the cash there is no third party involved in the transactions, unlike say a credit card or bank transfer.

All we have is the promise from the government that the cash is worth something. In crypto’s case, its value is overall determined by its users, albeit still quite volatile and unregulated.

  • What is your diet like? When i eat poorly it really effects my energy. Im not even 30 yet but I’ve noticed i can’t eat junk foods like i did just a few years ago, they leave me feeling lethargic. I tend to do best on a more whole foods diet. Like cooking chicken breast instead of chicken nuggets and avoiding ultra processed foods.

Also is your sleep actually good quality? Do you use any drugs like Marijuana before bed? Are you dreaming pretty consistently? Is your bed time and wake up time consistent?
