My great-grandmother, who was born in 1910, may have gotten married at 13 (iirc her husband was 17-18 at the time) and had my grandmother when she was 14… but that’s doesn’t make it “right” that she was a teen mother. Bat and Ding had those names at the shelter and we didn’t see a reason to change them. Luna … We were told he was a she as a kitten, and after a week of proper nutrition we saw the boy bits and just kept the name. Apollo was purposely named that way because we already had one swap and then we’d have the sun and moon.

And when it’s not red, you have a serious issue going on. This is actually how a couple initially noticed something was wrong with their toddler’s eye. Turned out she had cancer. She’s a healthy adult now, with a glass eye, but I have never looked at red eyes in photographs in a negative way since then.

Me too. I also get anxiety attacks over needles… Last time this happened I was in the ER anyways. I passed out, apparently seized up, they stuck an oxygen tube in my nose and I woke right back up. I remember being asked if I knew where I was and I said “no.” Time before that was when I got my second COVID shot at a drive through clinic… The nurse gave me the shot in my shoulder bone. Passed out in the car while we were waiting and ended up on the ambulance to go down the block to the hospital.

This has happened to me since I was a teenager. I just warn people that I might pass out.

Then I picked lemmy.world - and they went down one day due to the influx of users. Then I picked sh.itjust.works and I’ve been happy ever since. I’ll be staying here until the day I spin up my own instance.

I’m not entirely sure. In my state (one of the ones shown as “city”), Wikipedia has 942 cities/towns listed and of those only 25 have “city” in their names.

I’m tempted to keep going to see how many Lake, Mount(ain), 'ville, 'burg, etc there are.
