A more accurate representation would be pinning the medals to their crotches and then kissing them. 🤮

Probably at the point where people like you can’t help but shit on any and all efforts to keep talking about it.

3·11 hours agoThat is quite interesting how it works for you all. In my state (North Carolina), pedestrians always have the right of way, regardless of the situation. Yes, they can still be breaking the law (jaywalking), but drovers still need to yield and be alert to their presence.
There are people who will wall out in front of cars without regard, and I can’t help but feel that they want to get hit with how they carry themselves (no eye contact, no flinching if a car has to hit their brakes hard, etc).

192·24 hours agoYes, absolutely, pedestrians have the right of way. But, pedestrians also need situational awareness when they are in the same vicinity as cars and trucks. Right of Way doesn’t do anything if some asshat driver isn’t paying attention and clips the pedestrian and/or kills them.
Edit: I am absolutely not defending the guy in the tweet. Pedestrians aren’t menaces.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Why is vanilla extracted/sold in alcohol, isnt there something more flavorless/"vanilla" they could suspend it in?English
15·1 day agohttps://www.eatingwell.com/why-alcohol-is-in-vanilla-extract-11845019
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_extract
It boils down to a) the alcohol dissolves the organic materials, leaving the vanilla flavoring; 2) regulations require it (e.g. US FDA mandates minimum 35% alcohol in pure vanilla extract, and iii) alcohol is used because it evaporates away during baking.
Alcohol-free extract is referred to as imitation vanilla extract because it uses synthetic vanillin (often derived from wood pulp, but once was made from anal excretions of beavers).
As for the flavor, vanilla extract contains more than just vanilla.

This is the closest I could find.
You can read the news, tweets, posts, whatever of people you disagree with. Sharing said information is not a promotion of their agenda or platform; it’s information gathering.
To ignore opposing views, simply because they are opposing, is exactly what the other side does; two sides of the same coin. I would wager you don’t want to be like them.
The blue checkmark is most certainly supporting Musk and his agenda, so that is critique worthy by itself.
Am I? Are you sure? 😂

9·3 days agoI can see that. I would love to buy certain things locally, but even if I can find them (that’s a big If), they’re overpriced (see the post text). So yes, begrudgingly, it’s cheaper and easier (and uses less gas, wear and tear on my car, and saves me a boatload of time) to buy from Amazon.
It is entirely possible to hate something, but still need it/use it.
