  • He might be a lunatic but their economy has been tanked for a long time. They really didn’t have much to lose by giving him a shot. Businesses need to thrive in order to pay for the social safety net that Argentina wants so they need to get the balance right. Inflation was 300% in April and they say they expect it to be down to 122% by the end of the year. It’s a terrible situation they are in. Him being elected wasn’t because he gaslighted people into thinking an improving was bad so he can’t be directly compared to Trump or people like Nigel Farage.

  • To me this falls more under the category of non profit independent news, primarily local news where all the corruption happens. Report for America, reportforamerica.org, assists these local newsrooms and has a spot on their site that you can search for sites local to you. These local papers are interesting because their individual sponsors are often influential people in your community who believe in democracy and are concerned about the power of corporate media. I just checked out our local online paper like this and see the same names that I recognize for people I know who support the arts.

  • Now that Sony is releasing all their best games on PC, there isn’t much reason not to anymore. I personally have a PS5 because I already sit at my computer too much and that way my kids can use it too. I understand the complaints about PSPlus but to me it’s like splurging on a bunch of Steam games I’ll never play. Because Sony released their best games on PS Plus it saves me money because now I’ve been trained not to buy anything. They added Plucky Squire and Road 96 this month and we’ve had fun playing those.

  • I was going to refute your comment but to be honest I use it largely because of those features. I’ve used MacOS for over 30 years and recently bought an AMD workstation for development work when my MacBook didn’t cut it anymore. It would be a good experiment to try an all local MacOS experience to see how it stacks up and I think it would probably be ok. You can install a lot of desktop apps using Brew to keep your system up to date. The main advantage that Mac has over Linux is that a lot of corporate software is available that otherwise can only be obtained on Windows. When I realized that windows in a VM on Linux wasn’t for me I more or less converted my Linux machine to a server for most use cases.
