  • The 4th (and best) Doctor in Doctor Who discovered that an alien crashed a Ford-Pinto-tier spaceship on primordial Earth and accidentally blew the ship up while trying to crank start it, and in addition to irradiating some amino acid goo and creating life,

    Spoiler

the explosion accidentally sent the alien into the future multiple times, creating timeline copies of him. These copies could telepathically communicate with each other across time, collaborating across history to find a way to time travel back and reverse the explosion so he could be whole again and go home. Naturally he/they decided the best way to do this was to identify what fine art would be most valuable in the future and get the original artist in the past to make secret contemporary copies, thereby making the ultimate undetectable “counterfeits”, which could be sold on the black market in the 1970s, so that the time-fractured alien could eventually buy the technology he needs when humans get around to inventing it with his obviously inept secret guidance even though he could just guide us to give it to him for free to that end.

That Doctor Who episode was less stupid.

  • A human-like alien woman named Kamala who is an empathic metamorph, meaning she can read the unconscious desires and preferences of her mate to be their ideal partner emotionally, intellectually, and sexually. She’s at the stage in her life where she’s reaching full sexual maturity (about 27, given the actress’ age) and producing huge amounts of pheremones. She had to be brought out of stasis early, and while Riker is taking her to quarters, she begins to imprint on him and tries to seduce him. That GIF is from about 5 seconds after he rejected her while looking like it physically hurt to say no.

The episode is an ethical dilemma episode about arranged marriage as diplomacy.
