So many incredibly entitled people have never felt the obligation to give to others that which was given to them. These people should be shunned by civil society.

I’m OK with it because some of them have been good, like the Metroid first-person shooter games. (I haven’t played them, but I know that people liked them.)

I think one of the reasons it doesn’t work well with movies is that changing the genre of a movie also changes its tone. But with games, the gameplay genre is different from the narrative genre. You can make a strategy game, platformer, or shooter with the same tone, and so it stays “true” to the original setting, and it makes sense as being in the same fictional universe.

Utah beats Arkansas 43-10, which was expected to happen, but still nice that it did. I was nervous about this season a few months ago, but not many players left to follow Whittingham to Michigan, and Utah is looking pretty good this season. Still hard to say for sure when you haven’t played a ranked opponent yet, though.

Heard this one as a “spooky ghost story” around the campfire at a summer camp when I was 11 and it was the funniest thing I had ever heard.

I didn’t notice one; I don’t think it has one. I’m away from my desk until Monday, so I can’t check it out for a few days. But it’s not an intentionally scented ink, and I don’t think it had much of a scent at all.

I have no idea. Is there still a knot in the string? I was able to gradually nudge it along by squeezing the the knot in my fingers. It was definitely slow progress that way, though.

Also nice desk, the sides look fantastic. I hadn’t heard of a leather-topped writing desk before, that is cool. Can you still write on a single sheet of paper on top of it, or does it need to be a stack of pages?

I has a decent amount of shading. I only have it in a pen with a fine nib right now, so it doesn’t show up very much, but it’s noticeable.

Here it is on an Apica notebook. I think the real color is a little darker than this; I got a little water in the feed when I was cleaning it, so this is a slightly watered-down version of the ink.

My retro handheld and ebook reader are both mostly used during bus rides, but the retro handheld is smaller, so it just stays in a backpack pocket all the time. The ebook reader is larger so sometimes I don’t bring it. So maybe this could fill the gap for when I forget to bring the ebook reader.

I would probably end up obsessing over figuring out how to sync my page progress between the two devices, though, and I would barely end up using it, haha.

I was definitely paranoid when I was filling my pen, lol. I did it on an empty desk next to me.

Same, I’ve been using Apica almost exclusively lately. I’ve been really liking the two extremes: an A7 is in my pocket, and an A4 is on my desk. It’s huge, but I really like having the space for little boxes and sidebars.

Just yesterday I saw that they now have dot grid versions of their Premium CD notebooks (https://www.jetpens.com/search?q=apica+notebook+dot+grid&v=3), although not in the A4 size. I might have to make one of those my next notebook. I’ve also been curious about the square(ish) one, too. Not a standard size, but might be nice on a small desk.
