    I was hoping for something more suggestive of the story, but I’m actually very interested in anything that explores growing up in the Mirror Universe.

          At least the plot was not spoiled. Modern trailers tend to do that (from what I’ve read in recent years).

      @ValueSubtracted

      I’m enthusiastic that the teaser directly takes on Emperor Georgiou’s atrocities — this is an origin story and a redemption one.

      It makes sense to have the movie, which originally would have been the pilot episode for the show, provide a fresh entry point to both Mirror Georgiou and the Star Trek franchise.

      It also gives Michelle Yeoh a very different multiverse principal character than she played in EEAAO. Still think a longer limited series or spinoff show is in the realm of possibility.

        I don’t think “redemption” is really possible for Georgiou, but I’m very interested in an atonement story. It’s a fine difference, but I’m here for it if they can pull it off.

          Atonement is, as you say, more likely.

          But there’s also a clear thread of how context made her who she is, different from Prime Georgiou, that she can come to acknowledge that the MU Empire is fundamentally flawed and inferior to the Federation, but also that atonement won’t transform her into who she developed into in a healthy society.

          Can she become a ‘good’ person who is still different than she would have been?
