I was thinking of something similar, maybe taking their pairs of shoes at the front door or in their shoe rack, and switching them, so they sit Right-Left rather than Left-Right.
That, or turn their toilet rolls around (unless they let the sheets dangle closest to the wall anyway, then they’re disturbed enough).

That’s already my fiancee. I never have that problem - my socks are all identical.
