These gangs terrorize my town at all hours. They make car alarms go off with their sounds, speed down the main road near sidewalks, and rev right next to apartments with families.
Why don’t police handle them? Don’t people complain? If ever a person deserved to be legally walloped by a police baton, this is the occasion.
That, election time loudspeaker vans, and the advertising trucks ought to be outlawed. I would consider revising my stance on capital punishment for offenders.
At our previous place in Tokyo we lived close to an actual precinct and my wife complained there in person. And was told to just dial 110 when it happens. It seemed a convenient way to get rid of her, ever so politely, and to make it somebody else’s problem.
I suspect it’s a staffing issue or the knowledge that they can’t get rid of this problem no matter how hard they try. The only thing that will solve this problem is the declining birth rate. So I think unless people get hurt or shit gets damaged the police will not move a finger.
