I’m getting an error logging into Android app Jerboa saying that the server version is too low. Is there something I need to do on my end for this? Please don’t tell me we’re going to need to check EPS conduits one by one.

So, we’ve got a semi-workaround for this. Once your login fails, it seems you can use the Back button on your Android device (that is, the OS Back button, not the one in the top-left of the app), and you should actually be logged in as yourself, and you should be able to access the instance and use it as normal with a little effort.

I’ve had limited success and satisfaction with that, so I would recommend using the web browser of your choice instead - you can even install the instance as a PWA app from the “…” menu in Chrome. The mobile web version of Lemmy is pretty good, and I actually prefer it over Jerboa so far.

We’re holding off on upgrading the server because v0.18.0 disabled CAPTCHAs, which is very unfortunate because there’s also been a massive spike in bot accounts across the platform. CAPTCHAs are slated to return in 0.18.1, so we’re holding out until then.

      This makes sense. Thank you!

Sorry for the inconvenience - it’s frustrating that the app yells at users about this.

While true, I think your earlier point about the web version sufficing stands. It may just be force of habit expecting to use an app.

The mobile web version really is pretty good, which is a rare thing to say about the mobile web version of anything!
