Hey everyone, wanted to throw up another thread to talk bean and roaster recs. Wanted to try something new!
I just got a Brazilian Rose Diamond coffee from a local roaster. It’s super earthy and tea like with rose. Been loving it!

Chinese and Vietnamese coffees aren’t worlds apart, but I’d say there still is some difference at least. Love Vietnamese in general though, friend of mine is a farmer there with his own roastery, always a highlight to visit when I’m around.
As a “coffee fan”, I’d be siked to try some. Just gotta figure out what can make it to the US eventually.
I wouldn’t mind shipping any, but since the covid lockdowns, shipping has become prohibitively expensive. I’ve got some friends from the US here, so if you’re not in a particular hurry I can always wait until someone’s traveling home and give them some packages to ship domestically with USPS or whatever it convenient?
Was also planning to go to the US to audit one of our key suppliers, but that won’t be before June '24 unfortunately.
I appreciate the kindness but no sweat. Not in a hurry but I know it’s a pain to move stuff around the world for a random person on Lemmy. Maybe I’ll get some of those beans when I’m feeling a bit more fancy :)
I’m in Hanoi. The change in the coffee culture over the last decade or so has been great. Some really nice fair trade farm to shop arabica is now available plus local roasters using Kenyan and Ethiopian beans. Things are even more advanced in Saigon.
Yep, my friend is down in Saigon, though is farm is in the border area with Laos and Cambodia. Had some excellent roasts there.
Very cool to see coffee around the world!
