The power grid operator, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), says pressure on the state’s power grid is in part due to rapid growth in the state.
I haven’t paid much attention since I left Texas but they have their hands tied somewhat by the legislation that makes them exist right?
They can’t force power generation and what not.
I don’t know if you saw my comment, but yes. ERCOT has to answer to the PUCT and Texas Congress. It’s a pain in the ass to get anything done and worse if they have to contract out, which is the case a lot of the time.
