Voting Biden was going to be a vote against the fascists. Voting Harris is going to be a vote for Harris. She’s killing it, and I’m actually happy to support her vs just sending my vote to whoever has the best shot at beating the greater evil.
I’m hoping that distinction will translate to some insane activity with voter turnout.
I haven’t felt this optimistic about politics in ages.
Recently the UK elected a Labour government in a massive landslide, but polls before and after the election showed that main reason people were voting Labour was to get the Tories out (in contrast to previous polls preceding the last time Labour was elected). This time, it was a clear case of beating the greater evil.
I’m envious of the enthusiasm that I’m seeing around the US election due to Harris, but it’s nice to see people’s optimism, even if it’s bittersweet.
Vote against the fucking fascists, man!

This batch of labour politicians also suck though, unfortunately.
