Crime is down, despite the determined and successful efforts to convince us otherwise. Also some states have stepped back from the stunningly huge mandatory sentencing policies imposed during the 80s and 90s.
kind of looks like it begins flattening in '08, so maybe it’s related to the financial crash somehow? the 2020 downturn was probably both covid deaths and covid releases, and also that crime time went down when everyone was inside
