Strajk głodowy w ośrodku zamkniętym w Przemyślu!

Prawie wszyscy uwięzieni w ośrodku rozpoczeli strajk głodowy. W otwartym liście opublikowanym 6 września 2023, przedstawili swoje postulaty.

    Quoting the demands /1:

    1. Cessation of verbal and psychological violence, electric shocks and beating people

    2. Treating detainees with respect – stop using numbers instead of names

    3. Providing more social workers and nurses who will be able to communicate with us – employing people who will know at least English

    4. Providing sufficient hygiene products

    5. Increasing the amount for shopping, PLN 100 per month is not enough for basic needs

      Quoting the demands /2:

      1. Allowing to buy additional food products. Passing on to us the entire contents of the packages we receive. Improving the quality and quantity of food available.

      2. Providing access to social media. Access to phones with the Internet is necessary for communication with families. We also request that computers be allowed to be used 24 hours a day.

        1. Cessation of unjustified extension of stay in closed centers, respecting the rights of all imprisoned persons. We demand that each case be considered individually.

        2. We demand that, in accordance with the law, administrative documents be prepared in a language understandable to foreigners. Additional information should also be provided in writing, not orally. We are against verbally informing people about deportation in a language that is incomprehensible to a foreigner.

          1. Cessation of deportations to countries experiencing armed conflicts and civil wars.

          2. Access to Polish language classes, introduction of integration programs, facilitating leaving the center.

          3. Coverage of travel costs from a closed center to open centers.

          4. Handing over documents related to the case of each detainee who is released from the center.

          5. Access to medical care, including diagnostic devices.
