So, I am confused by some things with this website, and as this is a “general” community, I thought Quarks would be the most likely to be the place to post it…

So, here they are:

  1. If I have questions about general usage/ support of this website (startrek.website), what’s the correct community?
  2. If I am not sure of a rule for the website, where should I ask
  3. If I am not sure of a rule for a specific community, where should I ask?
  4. Where should I ask to find a community on a specific topic?
  5. Related to 1, where should I have put this post?
  6. Also, what about questions about Lemmy?

Thanks in advance!

This one right here - Quark’s.

    1. Perfect!

Same as above, if it’s a general question about rules and not an appeal of a specific mod action.

    1. Great!

Quark’s would be the place for this, as well.

    1. Makes sense! Also, I’m noticing a theme!

Right where you put it was the right call!

    1. Nice! I guessed right for a change!

    taps the “Quark’s” sign

    1. With all the other answers, that that coming!

We’re still deciding on the best solution to contact an entire mod team, but for now, reaching out to a community moderator directly is probably the way to go.

    1. How do you do that? I, personally, would think that it would be that specific community, but seeing as it always seems to be “Quarks”… wouldn’t be surprised

not an appeal of a specific mod action.

    1. How do I do that, as it looks like it’s the only guaranteed exception (the one above with a community mod is probably an exception, but not guaranteed!

You can find the moderators for each community in that community’s sidebar - just head to their profile and message them. This would be the process for both questions about community-specific rules, and appeals of moderator actions.

The downside to this solution is that the message is only guaranteed to be seen by the moderator you messaged, rather than the entire mod team, but we can and do communicate with each other as needed.
