    It’s a nice sentiment. But… sometimes they push you away. And sometimes they lash out at you. It’s. It’s not simple.

      I get both of these (lashing much less often). It starts to feel a bit empty saying you’re there if they need anything or want to talk for the hundredth time, when you know they won’t want anything or want to talk. Is there anything that can be done? Particularly if you’re not physically present?

      Spouse is bipolar. I get get pushed away and then get lashed out at for not being there. No it sure isn’t simple.
