His takes are usually really good and he never gives me the “rome nerd” ick
Definitely. His videos are less a glorification of the time and more an explanation. It comes out moreso in his videos on the Treaty of Westphalia where he explains how ideological desires typically bent to realpolitik strategy.
To match the time off of the average French peasant, a modern worker would need to get (in addition to weekends and public holidays) 3.5 months of vacation time.
They would also need to work ~5 hours a day.
