Initially Valve's Steam Hardware & Software Survey for December 2025 showed Linux at 3.19%, but they appear to have amended it with a nice boost for Linux.

Considering Linux desktop adoption was around 4% the last time I checked, and considering this is just Steam users (e.g. some might strictly be using GOG or similar, some don’t play games at all), this is pretty big.

The low quantity of macOS gamers always amuses me, since there is obviously more users of macOS than Linux.
