- Assetto Corsa EVO’s German free roam mode has been teased one more, in a new work-in-progress trailer
- There are two new cars, fresh areas and an emphasis on graphical prowess
- AI traffic seems to have greatly intensified in places compared to earlier demonstrations
Perhaps I’m not the target market, but I don’t understand the purpose of the free-roam mode. Will it just be a gimmick?
If it was a standalone game like Truck Simulator, it would make more sense to me, but why spend development time on a feature like this that doesn’t impact the actual racing?
There’s a huge scene of people on the original Assetto Corsa who never race. They only use it as a driving simulator on modded open world maps. I think Kunos want to cater to this audience as well as the racing scene.
Free roam maps are pretty popular in original Assetto Corsa. I don’t really get the fascination either, but some people just seem to like it.
