This is usually a promotion ceremony at Jiu-Jitsu schools that follow traditional Brazilian rules. Sometimes you also have to walk the gauntlet and get slapped by everyone’s belts which can be quite painful, especially when you are shirtless.
They have the same thing at a nightclub here.
