I’m a Cardinals fan and Lynn was a great workhorse for us years ago but I’m not sure this move really helps our terrible rotation. At least he can still eat innings, I guess.
I be more confident if yadi was still behind the plate or in the dugout. He really got a lot of potential out of the pitchers. I think this last season really showed that with us having the same bullpen but a different catcher and therefore different approach.
Totally agree. Yadi was basically another pitching coach behind the plate and knew each pitcher well. Contreras is just an okay catcher that can hit.
Personally, I think we’ll drop Marmol for Yadi as soon as he’s ready but that might be wishful thinking.
While I think he would be a fine manager, but I wonder if him working as a pitching coach may have a bigger impact on a daily basis.
I could be wrong but I think he’s eyeing club manager, based on his work in Venezuela and the PR team. I’d take him as a pitching coach in a second though.
