Hi

I’m trying to find some device that would allow me to set a vibrating alarm and that does not need to be charged frequently (<1 time per month).

Originally I was looking at fitness bands, but a lot of them require more frequent charging, and also need to be paired with a smartphone, and usually they use proprietary charging connectors.

So I decided to check around for more traditional watches, but the options seem to be limited if you want something that can vibrate. I think some of the Casio watches have that option, but there are so many different options and I don’t know anything about watches. I’m hoping to get something that is not too expensive either.

Ideally I would like to have something that just needs to have the battery swapped once every few years, or maybe even charges by itself? (Not sure how feasible that is with vibrating alarms)

Anyone have some experience with this?

I only used the BT for setting it up the first time as i found it more convenient. It can be done manually though. The app itself is pretty crappy and not useful for me so I just uninstalled it. If the watch is not paired with the app it won’t use Bluetooth so it won’t be draining battery. Even if you let the app installed and notifications active I don’t think it drains that much as the watch battery is stated to last around 2 years this way. I don’t use BT and don’t use backlight that much so I only have swapped battery once in 4+ years.

Alarm is easy to setup but is old school watch which means that if you want an alarm at, let’s say 6:30 and said alarm is currently set at 6:00 you’ll need to select the minutes and then press 30 times. It can be done faster via the app but unless you are constantly changing your alarms around I don’t think this might be a concern.

Normally I would not change it very often.
Does it also have a timer? Just like 1 hour long?
Or would I have to adjust every time I want to set a 1 hour timer?

Now just to find one with a reasonable price. The GBD-200 seems quite nice, but I would prefer more affordable if I can. Not sure if there are a lot of options with vibrating alarm.

It does have but it’s intended for workout, with five configurable stops or so. It can be used as regular timer but is cumbersome to setup, for that purpose a regular phone timer is more convenient.
