Coming from Lemmy I remember there was a relatively simple way to view moderation actions, incl. possible comments a mod might have left.
Is it possible to view such things - and all things moderation - on piefed, too?
And, going beyond piefed_help, what is the canonical way of reaching out to mods resp. reacting to an action taken against me?
Can instance bans be queried in a similar way?

The modlog is linked at the same location as on Lemmy, down in the page footer: https://piefed.zip/modlog
It’s also in the sidebar of communities.
But instances can choose to display it or hide it. And we had some fairly recent changes to it as well. The piefed.zip modlog shows up empty for me. Maybe the admins chose to hide the entries? If I click the same link on my instance or on piefed.social piefed.world etc, all the entries show up.
Reaching out to mods is notoriously difficult here. I tried direct messages in the past. Some mods are willing to listen, some don’t.
Oops, that’s embarrassing. Thanks.
The modlog here shows up empty for my username. Choosing a different (Lemmy) instance I have an account on, it shows 3 actions from months ago. Chhosing yet another (mbin) instance, I can see one recent mod action. None of the stuff that prompted me to ask this question shows up. All on other instances I guess. So they deliberately hide this?
Interesting for Piefed.zip , @demigodrick@lemmy.zip maybe this is a bug?
We have it disabled currently, but we’re looking at enabling it.
The risk comes from the mod log displaying content that is illegal - say someone made a comment describing how to build a bomb, that is probably illegal in most jurisdictions and I’d need to remove it. But if the modlog then keeps a copy of the removed comment for transparency with the full text - then I’m still displaying that content and on the hook for it. I can’t turn it off for lemmy sadly, so its a big risk. But we’re checking what piefed displays and will turn the modlog on if we’re happy we’d be ok :)
Hope that makes sense!
That makes sense, thank you!
