I really hope we get a new version of this at some point. It’s such a good game, and it still has players after so long. It won’t get a large fresh influx without a new entry though.
The lore for NS is much more prominent on Subnautica 2, so I’m slightly hopeful the plan is for NS3 after Subnautica 2.

I remember the first marketing for CnC Renegade. It was exactly that, a dude running and building the base as a commander with all the units being other players.
To bad that never happened, even though it was still a fun FPS.
Battlefield tried it a bit with the commander system in BF4. As that role was more RTS than anything.

That’s just 3 years away, just in time for the AI-pocalypse and the return of cheap RAM.
With how tied to AI Microsoft is, I wonder if the AI apocalypse would hurt StarCraft’s development more than help.
