Today’s game is Assassin’s Creed 3. I have finally done it. I 100% the Base Game. I thought for sure it would be about the same as revelations was. I was wrong. It was a whole lot more work. I’d say the 2 worst parts were the Encyclopedia of the Common Man and the 100% Sync. The Encyclopedia namely involved just a lot of waiting around which was horrible. I got it though. And I’m finally ready to move onto The Tyranny of King Washington.

Which I finally started today actually. It’s interesting getting to play this. I built up this image of what the game would be like in my head when I was younger but never got to play it. Getting to play it now is interesting. It mainly reminds me a lot of Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare, with the whole alternate time line shenanigans.

I’m hoping Haytham shows up but my hopes aren’t very high. Just something about the way he’s briefly mentioned and moved on from makes me feel like he won’t really have a role here which sucks. But is also understandable with how short it seems to be. Doesn’t appear to be much space to cram him in. Still. I hope I’m wrong.

Anyways. I ended my play session today by getting the first wolf ability. I honestly think it’s kind of cool. Obviously not something that fits in the base game, but having the ability to turn invisible and take out enemies is honestly really cool. I’m a big fan of mechanics like that so I’m glad to have it. Tomorrow I’ll have to try and get more used to it because it’s a lot of fun to use.

AC3 had my favourite setting of any of the AC games. We all know about the American revolutionary war and the aftermath, but the pre-revolutionary years feels a bit forgotten sometimes.

Always thought it was really cool seeing the British redcoats patrolling the cities then later on the colonial troops in blue.

I love how it covers the pre-revolutionary. One of my other things is also how it’s nuanced about the war, and more specifically the founding fathers. I love seeing things that cover the war that aren’t just about “Rahhh. Freedom”. I feel like it’s an easy camp for the media to fall into.

When I first played it when I was younger it didn’t click that the blue were colonial troops and they were there because the British got kicked out. I had just assumed they were blue for no reason naively enough. Granted I was young, but still it’s funny to look back on

So are you like able to play games literally every day? If so, then I know it’s at least possible and I have something to live for.

I am able too. Though I sometimes make unwise decisions with my schedule, i usually have enough free time to game for a few hours a day

Of course, were you picturing a future where you couldn’t?

8 hours for work, 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for commuting/eating/chores/whatever else you want.

The point in my life when I did the MOST gaming was when I was working 60-hour weeks at a physical job and didn’t have the energy to do much else.

Heeeeeey good job bud! It’s been a long long time since I 100% a game. The last one was funnily enough AC Brotherhood. 3 felt so cool, and the ship sections were so sick I basically ran strait to black flag right after my save got corrupted (never finished 🥲)

    Congrats!

Funnily enough AC3 comes right off the heels of me 100%ing 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations. So I know how much work that was.

I love 3, especially for the setting and gameplay. Black Flag though I went running straight too as well after finishing 3 back in the day. I loved the idea of pirates and the sailing

Black flag was fun as hell, I had planned to 100% but I got frustrated on the Orca hunt, found out there was a white whale after that and was like… Nah it ain’t happinen. The shanties tho! I forgot them all but I was so about it back when I was playing I would sing them at work
