I’m interested to know is that your wife’s job? You started out by saying people can’t just get a new job. Which is fair. But I’m confused as to if she is actually working. Not to say it’s a bad thing either way. We gotta do what we gotta do.

The whole get a new job thing doesn’t work for everybody. But the main point behind it is employers are more competitive when searching for new talent. Thus hire wages. You don’t necessarily have to learn a new skill or change industries. Hopping from McDonald’s to Burger King might get you more money in comparison to waiting for a raise. Depends on your market and your industry.

Jesus christ your comments are so fucking entitled, out of touch, and flat out insensitive and insulting. Of course its her fucking job. I wouldn’t have used it as an example if It wasn’t.

But you did catch onto another thing: there are many many families working off one income, so you can get all the “better” jobs you want, and it’s still not enough.

McDonald’s pays 14.50. BK pays 15.00. They are all comparable wages these days, so any move thats not into management is purely lateral.

Are you a fucking republican or something to be this delusional?

Sounds like your mental health problems are holding you back way harder than “teh ecomony.”

Fix what you can and move on from there. Or bitch on the internet, because the one thing I know you aren’t doing is making a meaningful difference.

Which part of “cares for a disabled family member” is hard to understand?

Is it confusing to you that someone would care for someone else?

…or is it just a general lack of empathy?
