This is a non-story with a purposefully misleading headline. There’s absolutely nothing noteworthy about a candidate saying that their opponent is going to lose an upcoming debate, regardless of who said it or what party they’re with.

It’s not like any of them can “win” the debate. These stopped being actual debates back when Kennedy showed up on color TV. A Republican hasn’t made a salient point in front of a camera since McCain gave Congress his thumbs down and prevented them from nuking Obamacare. There used to be points and scoring but modern times it all comes down to who looks best in whatever 1.2 seconds of video trends best on tik tok.

It sounds like he was talking about the primary, not the debate. And he’s dropping out, so she’s not his opponent. I don’t care much about what Christie says, but it’s newsworthy when a former contender makes a statement about the remaining contenders.

        Is it though?

Sounds more like the guy who gets kicked out of the only clique that tolerated them in school and tells everyone else they suck in response. “Loser claims other people losers on his way out”.

Maybe I’m wrong but it seems someone who has been in politics that long knows the mic is always hot. He meant for it to be heard.

He’s potentially best known for debating. He ended Marco Rubio’s campaign back in 2016. And he is only running now because he wanted to try to do the same thing to Trump.

I mean, the only reason any of the other candidates are in the race was on the off-chance that somehow Trump dropped out due to his ongoing legal problems OR to run for Trump’s VP pick. Christie and Pence were never getting that slot anyways. As long as the others don’t disparage Trump during the race, it’s a toss-up between them, though given Trump’s birther remarks about Haley recently, she’s likely out too.
