Nolan changed the end of Villeneuve’s sci-fi film (Arrival)
I always thought that scifi time stories were lazy scifi. In scifi shows they put them in when they get out of ideas. It’s dumb.
All sci-fi is lazy sci-fi when it’s done lazily. Using lazy episodes of sci-fi shows from when they ran out of fresh ideas as the basis for your opinion is flawed at best.
I like my scifi on the sciency side, not on the fantasy side. Time stories are on the fantasy side.
You should not assume on what I base my opinion, but you may waste your time speculating as you wish. However to make it easier for you :specifically, I don’t like nolans time stories. I think they are fairytales and I struggle to really get into such a story. Being a scifi fan I’m able to ignore giant plot holes all the time, but somehow can’t get past all of those in time stories.
You don’t think that time travel stories can’t be intrinsically interesting? I find that … surprising
Really? How surprising? More than me saying something like : budubibabububu?
The theatrical ending fereks much more in keeping with the themes in the short story “The Story of Your Life”
