Hillary Clinton is warning about the legality of birth control in the wake of a decision by the Alabama Supreme Court that found frozen embryos created through fertility treatments are children under state law.

“They came for abortion first. Now it’s [in vitro fertilization], and next it’ll be birth control,” the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee and secretary of State said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“The extreme right won’t stop trying to exert government control over our most sacred personal decisions until we codify reproductive freedom as a human right,” Clinton added.

“That’s why I’m pushing for an actual democratic primary and supporting progressive populist candidates and their broadly approved policies such as minimum wage increases and universal health care,” Ms Clinton did not add to her remarks.

There not being a better play doesn’t mean that play is a good one. It is a bad play, just the least bad one. What it means the system overall is broken and careening ro a crash, since the actually good plays are not politically viable. Mind you not that they wouldn’t be voter viable, but the gatekeepers who get to choose what is put in front of voters viably don’t want them there, that kind of politically non viable.

I think it was an American who said it that if people lose faith in the ballot box, they’ll take the soap box, if that fails, they will go for an ammo box. I think progressives seem to be at station 2, while the far right is skipping right to station 3.

That’s what I’m planning on doing. People will be able to see my vote for a 3rd party or write in candidate. I’m not going to reward Biden for refusing to compromise with leftists and progressives. Moderates are the majority voting bloc and got him elected in the 2020 primaries. They will take the lions share of the responsibility when he loses in the 2024 general.

So you’ll help elect Trump to show everyone how pure you are and then tell the moderates it was their fault? That sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Trump WILL hurt you and the causes you care about in a worse and more permanent way than the alternative. Yes the choices are shit. There’s still a meaningful choice.

Edit: Maybe a better way to ask the question would be what would you need to be able to sign on to the less shitty choice, keeping in mind that too much leaning in your direction will shear off the more conservative moderates at the other end of the Democratic coalition. There is strength in unity. Unions teach us that.

What unity? There were a wide range of progressive and leftist candidates running in the primaries. Moderates said “fuck all that we’re going with this old guy who’s gonna block strikes and support genocide”.

Did you see the part where I talked about progressive populist candidates? That’s not about a presidential race. The Democratic Party has made a habit of sabotaging popular progressive candidates at all levels, and Hillary could actually do something about that. And if we had a real majority in congress, we might see things like nationwide abortion protections passed.

Sanders would’ve beat Trump in 2016, could’ve done it in 2020 and could do it now.

He’s the most liked politician in America, respected across the aisle, and gets standing ovation from Fox News Town Halls, because even if they disagree with his ideas, even your rank and file Republican can see he means well and is genuine.

2016 Bernie got sandbagged. Elites thought Status Quo would stem off populist rage, never looking at any cause of why there’s so much populism on all sides. It must be the candidates right? Its definitely not that 80% of the country still hasn’t bounced back from 2008, the news lies to us everyday and half the populace wants to fix it (left, which is in reality, center right) and the other half are a mix of accelerationists whive lost faith in change (justifiably) and want it to all burn down and opportunists (neo-nazi’s, fascists, and authoritarian theocrats - one big group that collectively, to the shame of their mothers, needs to learn to mind their own fucking business and stop trying to tell people what to do). 2020 was performance for Bidens cabinet from the start, it was suuuuuper obvious by the media’s handling he came pre coronated. I say this as someone who likes Biden. He’s been a stand-up family man his whole life and he’s pivoted away from corporate interests towards the people’s, not as much as I’d like, and it’s about 40 years late, but I like that it’s happening.

I wouldn’t mind Shawn Fein for 2028, especially if he pulls off a general strike on mayday, mid campaign. He’d be a fucking LEGEND then.

The DNC, liberals, have got to look around and realize that the status quo is a tough pull to swallow. Both sides of the aisle HATE corporations, those in the center work for them and politicains on both sides are bought and paid for by them. The dip shits who make up the WEF, who think we’ll all be happy not owning anything, from the outside, seem to want to incite a real life purge. I don’t think they actually mean too, I think they’re too far removed from normality, that they think they’re better and smarter than us rubes, and that if violence broke out, they’d survive it…in a country with more bullets than IVs, and full of veterans who watched their friends die for rich greed. I think the rich are preeeeetty fucking detached from how precarious their situation is. Jamie Dixon and Larry Fink have both been squawking, on record, that profits before people isn’t working and the business class needs to pivot, but it doesn’t seem like many are listening.

          Do not meet in reality.

Biden has moved the Dems left. He’s more left than Clinton or Obama were. He walked a picket line for fucks sake, first president ever.

Does he have more room on the left to move too? Shit, he’s got as far as the eye can see, but hes panned further left than he even campaigned on. Saying otherwise is disingenuous, so much so, that I don’t think you voted for him at all.

He walked a picket line for fucks sake, first president ever.

When I say “compromise with leftists and progressives” you think walking on a picket line is sufficient? No. That’s pathetic. Here’s some real compromises to be made:

            1. Don’t block strikes. Vow to veto any attempts to block a rail strike in his next term.
            2. Stop sending weapons to Israel.

Saying otherwise is disingenuous, so much so, that I don’t think you voted for him at all.

You gave a pathetic example that did not have any meaningful impact on the lives of Americans. The UAW was already on strike and well on their way to getting what they were fighting for. Showing up to a picket line doesn’t make up for blocking the rail strike.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but Biden’s approval ratings are way down since he was elected. If you think I’m just some troll fine. Whatever. But I gotta wonder where you believe the people who did vote for him and disapprove of his actions are voicing those opinions? Or do you just accuse everyone who says they aren’t voting for him again of being a liar?

Y’all know it’s the end of February right? The time for whinging about no better candidate was a year ago. As usual you’ve waited too late. You better build up candidates years in advance to have a chance at running them. Which unfortunately no one really wants to do on the left. Every single leftist candidate will be cannibalized by the left itself. That’s why we almost get never get them.
