The original run of the QR had grooves inside the housing that only went partway down. Fine for the non-DD1/DD2 bases, but on the older bases the grooves needs to go further down, else the QR grips on to the wrong part of the base’s shaft which can lead to damage to the base.

Anyway, I emailed Leoxz and they sent an updated QR free of charge. The whole process was super smooth and they were very helpful.
