⚠️ Note: This update is for the Public Test version of Valheim, and may therefore be unstable. Before we launch this update to the Default version of the game, we want to make sure to have a chance to discover bugs and adjust the balancing, to give you the best game experience possible. Access the Public Test branch on Steam by right clicking Valheim in your Steam library, and then select ‘Properties’. In the new window, select ‘Betas’ and type in the code “yesimadebackups”.
They changed the world generation so even if you’ve uncovered the map already, it will be updated to new ashlands. New world not required, as far as I can tell.
That said, if you are going to make a new one regardless, nothing wrong with bringing gear and speedrunning to new content. I have a stockpile of boss trophies just in case I need to world hop.
Let’s see, start a new character on a new map or cheat slightly by bringing a fully equipped character with tools to a new one…
