Price of Spotify going up another buck. Didn’t they just increase it to $12.99 like a few months ago?
This is probably the last increase I’ll tolerate though. I used a cracked premium thingy for about 2 years but then they offered a 3 month free trial and I thought 12 bucks was reasonable enough so I’ve been paying that for 2 or 3 years now. But then it went up to 13 and songs I like started disappearing. And they started forcing ads and concerts/merch down my throat constantly. Now it’s 14 bucks and every time I open the app it’s advertising some concert or something at me.
It’s at the point where if I hadn’t already been using Spotify, I wouldn’t consider it as a decent option, but since all my stuff’s on there I’ll just suck it up. If it goes to 15 bucks I’m out though. I’ll export my playlists and ditch it

Edit: oh and what’s annoyed me the most recently is that shuffle seems to have gotten worse. Sure Spotify, I have over 2,000 songs in my playlist, by I’m sure it’s totally a coincidence that “shuffle” is choosing the same few songs every time I “shuffle”. (Apparently they capped the shuffle at 150 songs to work better on low end devices or something)
I do, yeah, but I’m not a big fan of YTM. Although they do have by far the largest library, since even if they haven’t officially brokered rights to a track, somebody has probably uploaded it
Nope, not an iOS person. Spotify has a family plan and also a 2 person plan too, but I don’t know anyone I’d trust with my account info who’d be down to go halvsies
Yeah. The only reason I haven’t yet is because it hasn’t quite pushed me over the edge yet. I’m basically 1 foot off the edge, but I haven’t quite fallen over it yet. And also I need some time to figure out what my other alternatives are
The *arr apps are a set of apps/services that manage the finding, downloading, renaming, and organising all in one app. The main ones are bazarr for subtitles, lidarr for music, radarr for movies, and sonarr for tv, but there’s also a bunch of them for various combinations of things

If you use YouTube revanced, it comes with YouTube music for free.

If your on iOS see if you can get a gang together and start a family plan, works out cheaper and you get more iCloud storage for backup.

@Baku piratebay + showrss.info + qbittorrent (+ a rename script I wrote with ai assistance) + yt-dlp + jellyfin gives me a complete solution.
