World News@lemmy.world•Iranian regime muzzles media with grim death penalty warningEnglish
415·8 months agoDoes anyone else see a suspicious disconnect here? The actual legislation cited is a prohibition about “any intelligence cooperation with the Mossad”. And what’s more, this complaint is coming from Euronews, a news agency which is likely hostile to the regime. Whatever you think about the regime, I am pretty sure that cooperation with the enemy in wartime is maximally punishable in any country.
So my takeaway when I read this piece was that it sounded like a fox complaining that teeth and claws are forbidden in the chicken coop.

It’s weird that the OP has such high regard for Pinterest. I have always seen it as search-result polution and never really understood why it exists, other than as proof that we need to have search functions like “-site:____”.

5·9 months agoIsn’t there some document they don’t have that you need? In Canada you would be asking for their SIN number so payroll can complete the hiring process. No SIN? Oops sorry we can’t hire you because the paperwork is incompletable.

27·10 months agoThat technology would be okay if it was 100% open source, and came with a hard-copy manual alongside purchase so I could write a Python script to control it from my PC. Then and only then would I consider deploying such a technology in my home.
I just returned to Canada after spending some months in Belgium. The first couple of times I saw dogs in restaurants and cafés, I was slightly weirded out. But after seeing it happen repeatedly with nobody ever even batting an eye I realized it was totally normal there. And not once did I ever see a dog cause a problem or make any excessive noise. In the Netherlands as well.
Not a dog owner myself.
