It’s a decent start, and more importantly it is a start. Being brutally honest it’s a pretty minimal urban commute vehicle. The old 2013 Leaf I just bought for $4500 gets the same mileage with its used battery, and can go 90mph, OTOH the Olinia seats 6. Kudos for getting the ball rolling. It will only improve from here.

That is definitely a major factor, it’s just not the only one. People seem to believe the world operates like a comic book with designated villains do all the bad things and everybody else is just a victim. Individual behavior is also a factor. I mean what’s the dominant gospel on Boomers - that they irresponsibly polluted the Earth and wasted all the resources, or that they were innocent victims of a few evil billionaires?
I agree with these points, but you should talk to the other person here who said without lies civilization would collapse in a couple minutes. Quite the spectrum of beliefs.
Stores vary. In mine there’s ample bagging space and the self-check limit is 15 items anyway.
Maybe I’m spoiled. The ones at both local Safeways here are great, except each store has one with a card slot that won’t detect sliding my Safeway card. But recently I learned holding the card over the product scanner works just fine!

You mean because of taking the mouthpiece out of your mouth? Just breathe in through the snorkel and out through your nose. The unbeatable problem is the water pressure on your chest keeping you from inhaling.
That’s where the water pressure problem kicks in. You only have to be a couple feet down before you can’t expand your chest enough to get a breath through a tube. It’s very surprising.

I have absolutely never had that experience, it’s always the opposite. I’m in, I’m out. The good thing is, if you don’t like self-check you can go through the clerk line and vice versa.
Advantage: when somebody is taking so long it seems like they’re figuring out their taxes, you’re not stuck behind them because the one line goes to multiple stations. At least where I shop.
I love self-checkout. The line moves much faster. But it is important to learn which machines work well and which ones are most glitchy. Kind of like learning which lane has The World’s Slowest Checkout Clerk.
Yes, compared to even my 2013 Leaf’s 80kw motor it’s a toy. But I look at this as a starting point. They were at ground zero, and now they have engineering experience, a manufacturing operation, and a finished working product to improve upon.
