  • You’re right, there are people out there that literally say don’t vote and try to convince other people not to vote. But I think most of us are reasonable enough to understand that it really doesn’t matter if you vote, so it also doesn’t matter if you convince someone not to vote. We’re not going to vote because we think there’s no utility in it. That is that.

But the liberals are in a political game, and they need as many players as possible, and they call themselves lefties, and so they go to the lefties and say, hey, we’re on the same side, right? And we’re like, no, fuck you, go away. And they’re like, aw, please? And we’re like, no, you basically side with fascists, go away. And then they get all pissed off of with us, then they claim that we side with fascists, and it’s all a big clusterfuck.

That’s the perspective I have now that I switched from being one of those liberals to being a leftist.

  • It is kind of fascinating to me that yes, the clean energy websites tend to be synophobic as well. But at least they will factually admit that China is ahead of the West in so many ways.

The first reason it’s fascinating is that the people on these sites still can’t get over their synophobia, even though time and time again China seems to be doing the right thing. It just confuses and bewilders them, and instead of sitting down and really reconciling with that, they just repeat phobic nonsense.

The second reason it fascinates me is that these are the scientific resources that liberals are supposed to be pointing to to determine where clean energy and the right decisions are being made. And when you point them at these resources they kind of still deny it, like they will say sure China’s ahead, but at what cost, or sure China’s ahead, but they’re still in the authoritarian state. Or China’s only ahead in these ways, but not those ways. Of which they are wrong to say that, but at least this one particular source might not point that out. It’s denialism at its most fascinating.

I’m sure to a lot of people on here thinks this is obvious, and not really comment worthy, but being a communist for about a year I’m still wrapping my head around a lot of the hypocrisy of the West.

  • After thinking about it for a while, not having any special knowledge, but being in the tech field, I feel like this is the most likely scenario.

In the States, where can you find old stuff from the 90s anymore? That was before I was using the internet heavily, but things like GeoCities and other meta websites have gone down or basically only exist in archives now.

I realize that the article never said that China is purposefully pulling these websites down just that they seem to be disappearing. This is conspiracy theory code for we’re just asking questions. But if I had heard an American say, hey, why are these old 90s websites coming down? Isn’t that suspicious? Isn’t our government being totalitarian? I would definitely just say no, that’s just how the internet really works, Things come down, nothing lasts forever.

  • jokes aside I really honestly want to use this. For a while I’ve been trying to use extra context to get American AIs to understand and be more pro communist and they are just fucking trained to hate it.

To be fair they usually end up becoming neutral, but they don’t speak in a pro communist lens like I’m trying to get them to.

Super duper wish we in U$A get to use this.

  • I use freetube on desktop and grayjay on mobile.

Greyjay will also read from multiple sources, like patreon and nebula, and now including Bilibili, which is interesting to see content from. I think they have like a dozen sources that they are compatible with now.

Both have had constant access to YouTube for over a year now. YouTube likes kicking off those third parties…

Freetube will fall back to invidious instance(s) if YouTube fails to load. So even if YouTube is messing with them, you get something. You can turn that off if it gives you trouble.

It’s a pain to manage my subscriptions across two different systems. But they both read and write to newpipe subscription streams, So I can export and import between them that way. Oh, and newpipe is another option for mobile. I’ve had problems with them, they tend to get blocked a lot. But I haven’t used them recently, they might be better now.

  • Damn it that’s amazing. A dedicated hotline that I guarantee doesn’t make any money, that is just meant to serve the people. Fantastic service. It helps answer the question about how the CPC keeps its pulse on the public. Thats a hard thing to do!

Damn it Yogthos, every time you post something awesome about China, I feel a little bit more sad about living in North America. Mostly kidding. It’s kind of my good news of the day when I see stuff like this. It’s a constant reminder that humanity doesn’t suck. Just capitalism.

  • I’m always suspicious of these tech farms because it costs a lot of electricity to run those LEDs to produce the amount of energy needed for food.

In America, these would just be used to make more corn that would be used to create biofuels that would be used to run the generators that would be used to run the LEDs. The whole goddamn thing would run at a loss, but a lot of people would make a lot of money in the meantime.

Oops got mad at capitalism again haha.

    Anyway…

It does seem like they’re doing it the right way. Producing foods that they can’t normally produce year-round or producing foods that They can’t produce much of normally.

They also talked about using it for starter plants which is a good idea. And I’m sure experiments are much better in a consistent environment like that.

    Woop woop!

  • Lets fffffffuuckinnnnn GOOOOOOOOOOO

If the motherfucking liberals could get past their goddamn sinophobia, I think this set of laws would be exceptionally well received in the USA (Yes, yes. I know the alt-right and the Conservatives, and even the Democrats would have all kinds of problems with this. I’m just saying that if the Liberals weren’t so dumb… They want workers rights, don’t they?).

Edit: further clarity, I’m thinking this is the kind of thing that if you explained it as an idea, most progressives would say “yeah, that sounds great, but it will never happen…” kind of thing. Motherfuckers, this is what happens when the progressives are actually in charge! Even if the changes are slow to come, big moves like this are possible in one swoop! Furthermore, I still keep the word “critical” in “critical support of China” in mind. But “support” is winning today comrades!
