No citation required. It’s common knowledge that people value something more if they pay for it vs if it’s gifted/given to them. I also love how you tried to break this out into a rich vs poor debate even though rich people who have college paid for them (rich kids can and do use grants like Pell, bet you didn’t know that) are no different in terms of cheating than poor people.

What’s counterproductive is bringing up cheating like it has anything at all to do with funding college. It’s an entirely orthogonal concept.

Not only that but the FDA has the most strict ethics body of any Federal agency. If there’s even a hint of something unethical going on with a clinical trial the whole thing is basically cancelled. Everything must follow not only the letter of the law but the spirit as well.

Except the numbers work out, and studies have made very very sweeping generalizations based on much smaller sample sizes of much larger demographics (for example the 1 in 5 myth comes from a study that had less than 100 respondents). This study is a dream compared to those.
