Prima gemacht. Ich würde vielleicht in so einem Fall als Alternative vorschlagen, das Kabel selbst zu reparieren. Dafür den defekten Teil des Kabels raus schneiden, Schrumpfschlauch überstülpen und die beiden Enden mit isolierten Kerbhülsen verbinden. Danach den Schrumpfschlauch aufschrumpfen.

Bietet den Vorteil, dass man von gefährlichen Teilen des Innenlebens wie Kondensatoren fernbleibt. Nachteilhaft ist allerdings, dass das Kabel etwas kürzer wird und (wenn man denn Wert drauf legt) die Optik etwas leidet.
