That’s exactly it really. Many guys (at least pre social media) never think about the other perspective, so they think they complimenting the women, so they get mad when they get treated badly. Young guys having a more easily accessible view into how women feel about it and what they think about in terms of the danger (hopefully) would help it phase out slowly, but I’m an optimist!

But on it’s face both of these things are valid. Birth control frequently sucks a LOT for women, and condoms can be unpleasant (not to the same extreme don’t even try it) for guys. It’s not a competition, nor is it mutually exclusive.
