The South was never properly reconstructed. We got rid of legal slavery, granted the right to vote, and then fucked off back to the North. It’s good to have a forum to discuss the issue from a political angle. You can wedge politics into everything if you try hard enough but then for other stories, you don’t really have to try at all. This one seems like the latter.

Advocating for immigrants to resist is advocating for them to put themselves in real danger. So yeah, no one can do that in good conscience.

However, there’s a very rational argument to be against deportation, especially as it’s being done right now: Unrestricted deportation makes this country objectively worse, not better. Deporting employed, law abiding people who have lived here since they were 3 is a stupid idea. Our immigration policy is not good policy and before we irreparably ruin lives and tear families apart, we should fix it.

I’d say the protest I was at was at least twice as big as what’s listed in that sheet. It wasn’t a major city so it’s not that hard to count either.

I believe F-Droid signs the packages it distributes so that creates a painful choke point. Revoke F-Droid’s key and it will break all of F-Droid instantaneously. The only exception for F-Droid’s signing is if the build is reproducible, which is a high bar for a lot of projects, and then F-Droid will use the upstream signature.

trunk was the common name before git anyway. Why the move away? I’ve heard it’s because git is more of a weird graph than the trunk+branch model of CVS. But if that’s the reasoning, master is still a stupid name because it implies the same primacy as trunk. Why not just default or start or something?
