CEO = Stochastic Parrot. Got it.
You won’t see this, but… the Lemmy devs are Marxists, not right-wingers. Lemmygrad is definitely Marxist (Leninist). Lemmy.ml is left-wingers of all types.
Just gonna leave some Parenti here…
The companies hawking e-cars have much larger advertising accounts with NYT than those hawking e-bikes.
The ending was supposed to be even better: the capitalists were all supposed to start bidding against each other for “someone” to build them a house on the new planet, until they realized that there was no one left to build one. Labour is the source of all value and so on and so on…
Correct.
But approximately 40 minutes ago a massive explosion was detected at the Russians’ Baikonur launch complex.

The gold filter was good and you should say it.
Meanwhile, BOINC is right there, with far more useful work for your idle GPU to do.
lol, but wouldn’t that be grounds for DSA to kick them out? IIRC, the DSA’s bylaws forbid anyone that is “operating under the direction of a democratic centralist organization” or something like that.
Y’all aren’t federated with lemmy.ml? Well shit then. I’ll go with option “knows nothing about Lemmy.”
The more I read stuff like this plus the history of real movements I realize why things like DemCent [emphasis added] and other hardline ML things are needed but that’s not a discussion for here
The article itself essentially makes that claim, just in coded language:
These shortcomings are all symptoms of underdevelopment in DSA’s diplomatic work, stemming from a lack of structure, standards, and norms [emphasis added] about how members should conduct themselves when representing the organization to foreign parties and governments, especially those much more developed in their practice of socialism than us.
In an effort to have a generative political conflict out of this situation, and to encourage positive change in how we engage in member-driven diplomatic work, we propose the following guidelines for structuring delegations and the work that follows them in the future as a way to maximize these principles and ensure that our delegations are beneficial for delegates and DSA alike.
Then proceeds to list four things that would be common sense to any “DemCent” organization.
Disregard that tomfoolery. The PSL is absolutely a worthy left-wing org.
My strategic reasoning is that I think it’s counterproductive to advocating for an end to the embargo to meet with the head of a state that will credibly be accused of authoritarianism.
Holy shit. It’s literally just “muh authoritarianism.” And coming out of some of the more powerful caucuses too. This is the best the DSA can muster?
“Deeply unserious people,” indeed.
Just checking in from Lemmygrad… where’s our whiny “Lemmy.ml is acting as a proxy instance for” thread?
Comrade ✊
Lemmygrad dunked on this a couple weeks ago: https://hexbear.net/post/1900390
The actual whitepaper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2307.06981.pdf
We also dunked on it months ago:
I’d rather trust a human to translate sensitive political documents. The website has an English section, but it doesn’t look like this entry has been translated. At least, I couldnt find it after searching for “palestine” or “gaza” on the English page and looking for something dated 2024-05-31.
